Raising the Money

A new boiler for Blanche is costing £36,400 and then it will cost a bit more to do the mechanical overhaul and fit the new boiler. As a result we have a target of raising £40,000 over the next few months.

The boiler is now on order and nearly finished. As I type this at the end of December delivery will be very early in the new year  and a major invoice is about to arrive.

 

We have a number of ways planned to raise the money and, as the details of these are worked out they will be listed below with links to other pages.

NEW INCENTIVES

  1. A WEEKEND TO REMEMBER

Give me enough money towards the boiler now and you can come and spend a weekend with us on the  footplate for a whole weekend once Blanche's back in service. That's two trips per day for two days with proper service trains. They'll be long days but you'll love it. SMALL PRINT: Limited to two able bodied participants at any one time. Its a hard day, you need to be reasonably fit. I won't say you have to be of sound mind as that would exclude most of us!

  1. YOU TELL ME!

OK, instead of me coming up with ideas to part you from your money lets turn it on its head. This time you tell me what you want to do and how much you will donate to Blanche if we can afford it. For example for a £500 donation we'd be happy to arrange for you to paint the insides of Merddin's new tanks:-)
