Just before you get to the online competition here is a bit of background and information. Please read to the end before playing

Well, we need to raise a lot of money to pay for the boiler so why not have a bit of fun about it. Think of it as making a donation with a chance of a bit of a laugh in the process and you will be approaching it with the right frame of mind.

Each will cost you a fiver to enter and to enter the third you will have needed to enter competitions 1 & 2. You can also make a donation at the same time.

We're still having prizes donated. At the outset competitions 1 & 2 have 2 volume sets on DVD of the Festiniog Story. Competition 3 has a copy of Blanche's works plate as the star prize.

By Cheque

You can pay by cheque, which you send to the Freepost address provided during the the entry process.

Your entry is logged but is only activated when we receive your payment

By Credit Card

The credit card payment uses the online payment system provided free to RicketRescue by EDM models [that's me, Paul Martin, with another hat on and that hat can be found at www.ngtrains.com]. It is secure and uses one of the worlds leading online payment companies, Worldpay, to make sure its safe.

Note: If you pay by credit card there is a £1.50 surcharge. Why? All card payment providers charge for their services and the surcharge covers this so that your full entry fee and donation go to the cause you intended, BLANCHE

After we know how you are going to pay you are taken to a screen to enter you guesses before being taken back to the main RicketRescue site

The crane at Bartlett Engineering has a digital weighing system installed. A photo will be taken of the readout with the boilers suspended from the crane. The reading shown on the photo is the reading to be used for the competition.

For competition 3 the entries to competitions 1 & 2 will be entered in this formula.

Error =ABS(guess1 - old boiler actual weight) + ABS(guess2 - new boiler actual weight)

Without the techno babble what this means is the person who gets both weights 100% right will score a zero error in the formula and win!

If there is a tie the winner will be drawn from a hat and the judges decision is final. The judge can be bribed, start your bids at £36k
